You See
"The Cove" It's been a few years since the inflatable whale sat on Healey Lawn, but if Hayden Pantierre didn't convince then of the horror of whale hunting, this documentary certainly will. Centered around the mass dolphin slaughter in Japanese fishing town of Taiji, the film is a testament to the value of these marine mammals. Though what the filmmakers find in this town is haunting and heart-wrenching, seeing the efforts that went into making the film are gripping and thrilling. One can't help but be inspired by the lengths the team of divers, surfers, Hollywood special effects experts, and Flipper trainer, Rich Barry go to expose this horrific practice.
"The September Issue" Every fashionista knows that the September issue is the most important month for style magazines, as they debut the fall runway lines of top fashion designers. This documentary examines the creation of this issue of the ultimate style magazine, Vogue. What it finds is the real life version of "The Devil Wears Prada" with the tense relationship between Editor-in-Chief Anna Wintour and Creative Director Grace Coddington playing out a well dressed rivalry.
"Paper Heart" Charlyne Yi (the stoner girlfriend in "Knocked Up") explores the existence and definition of love in this hybrid of documentary and fiction. Michael Cera admirers be warned, the film culminates with a budding romance between Yi and Cera that might have you green with envy. Rest assured, word on the street is that their real life romance has ceased and Yi's remarkable style of comedy (check out her SNL audition tape on Youtube) is just too adorable to miss.
You Listen

"Hot Like Sauce" Pretty Lights- two words: acid trip.
"Memories" David Guetta and Kid Cudi- Reminiscent of Lady Gaga's "Just Dance," but way less annoying.
